Berkeley transfer units

Hello and may I just preface this by saying gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood luck to everybody in 2 days! WOOPIE!

K, now that the sugar's died down, I want to ask a question:

I Just had a thought that popped into my mind: It says on Berkeley's website that if you have over 80 transferable credits, you're ineligible.--I have 82 including this semester.

However, I called an admissions rep. and she said "only if you're transferring from a 4 yr school. If you have credits from a 4 yr and you have a least 30 from a community college, the credit load doesn't matter."

And I just took it for what it was

.....but what if she was wrong?

So…

Did you only attend a CCC and never a 4-year?

If so, then no worries at all, man. There have been CCC to UCB transfers with well over 100 units before. It happens often.

Otherwise, so long as you’re CONSIDERED a CCC student (even if you’ve been to a 4-year) and have a little over 80, then it’s absolutely fine. (Although, the UCB admissions office doesn’t like to share this fact. They purposefully make it seem like anyone with 4-year units is instantly disqualified with over 80 units. The truth is that, even if you went to a 4-year, and have a little over 80 units and are considered a CCC transfer, then you are fine.)

Ok… So that was a complex answer.

Anyways:

Did you only attend CCC? You’re OK!
Did you attend a 4-year but are considered a CCC transfer? You’re OK!
Are you considered a 4-year transfer? Not OK, my man… Not OK…

Woops ahahah
Sorry I forgot to put that little info in!

50 credits from a 4 yr
I will have 32 credits from cc

The admin rep is right and the website is wrong. That info on the site is misleading but purposely put there to discourage people from accumulating tons of units.
