Berkeley, UCLA, others?

Just wondering where you think I might get in with the UC's. Also curious about how I might do with private colleges like the Claremont and Ivy League schools.

UC GPA: 4.0
Unweighted GPA: 3.79
SAT I: 730V, 730M
SAT II: 760 writing, 740 math 2c, 750 US History
Other Crap:
Eagle Scout (Boy scouts- lots of random offices)
Youth Group Founder/President/Newspaper editor
Governor's Scholarship
AP Scholar with Honors (Hasn't come yet, but I think I got it)
Speech & Debate - lots of random awards and offices
National Honor Society (Volunteer group...does this even mean anything)
Probably something else I'm missing, but whatever.

everything is pretty good. Though your GPA could be slightly higher....anticipate very little resistance up until you reach UCLA and UCB. At that point, it could be a reach.

If you are Asian, you have no shot. By being Asian, you have to score at least 100 points higher on the SAT than non Asian applicants. Back in the 80's, Harvard's Asian population had a 200+ higher SAT score on average than the typical white applicant.

I spoke with several admissions officers discreetly. They have all confirmed this unfortunate bias.

what crap...dont listen to this BS.

are azns really that much hated by. show me some love (girls??)

UCLA/UCB: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCD/UCSB/UCI: Safety
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Super Safety

Pomona: Match
High Ivies: Reach
Low Ivies: Slight Reach

I’m telling you from experience, do more volunteer work for UC’s! UCI and UCSB like seeing people who help out in the community. But SAT’s look solid so you should get into UCSD, UCSB, UCI, and UCD (as long as you keep up the GPA before applying and do more EC’s).

As for Cal and UCLA, if you’re out of state you have a better change of getting in.

Keep in mind that this years applicants have been the strongest and most competitive applicants in history. The average freshmen GPA for UCI was like a 4.11 and UCSB was similiar too (I think around a 4.15 or something).
