UCB vs UCLA psych. I just noticed UCB has NO lab component of its undergrad psych program. That’s nuts, and cheap! UCLA has lab courses. Reed uses labs in its year-long intro course as well as many upper level ones. Skip UCB psych. It’s all lecture-based BS.

Thank you SO much everyone for the advice, I really appreciate it.

rhg3rd – OH my gosh! Are you sure? No lab component in any of the four years? Could you possibly give me a source if you don’t mind so I could read the context of that, because that’s something that’s very important to me.

I have about 4 hours left to turn in my SIR and I was leaning Berkeley but what you just said could definitely make me change my mind!! Please respond :)

That’s right, except for Psych 101 - Data Analysis has a stat lab.

where 200 is graduate level at all UC’s.

Sounds like BS to me. Stick with the Molecular Evolutionary Bio.

Maybe it’s an animal rights thing or more likely budget cuts - too much money for mice and other lab animals.

Reed uses labs right from the beginning in first two semesters and with behavioral neuroscience, learning, and many upper level topical courses. At UCLA, there are some dedicated lab courses after 1 and 101A but labs don’t get used with topical courses.
