Hello, i am choosing between UCLA, Berkeley, Cornell, and UPenn for where i will be attending next fall.
i will be a biology major and am interested in becoming a doctor or a veterinarian.
which of these schools would offer me the strongest underrgraduate program in biology before i go to graduate school (so i will have a good foundation before i advance) ?
thanks, any replies are appreciated ASAP

They would all provide excellent undergrad preparation in biology. I would recommend Cornell because it has a great pre-med advising system, has a top veterinary school (in case you decide to go that route), it has a beautiful campus, and it is not urban. I prefer private universities. I think the publics have a different climate and a wider mix of student abilities.

Which state are you from?

I agree with the recommendation of Cornell. It has a considerably broader biology program than most universities, covering everything from entomology to neuroscience to marine biology to biochemistry.

Penn (which also has a vet school) if you don't like the rural location of Cornell.

Cornell in my opinion

well i don't like the rural location of cornell, but i love the campus and the programs there. i loved upenn's campus and the atmosphere and i'm sure they have a great biology program.
and i've heard great things about ucla's campus and their biology program also.
a little more background on me, if i go into medicine, i'd like to be a neuro surgeon and if i go into veterinary medicine, i'd like to be an equine surgeon.
thanks for the responses!
any more?
i'm also throwing UVA into the mix.

bumppppppp

Cornell is the best for the mix of academic variety and general education, methinks.

bump (10char)

for bio stuff, I usually recommend Cornell, mostly due to the vast array of related programs available. Biology is offered as a major in 2 different schools while both schools have their own unique twists on the "bio experience". Cornell's size and strength in bio also offers students a chance to do some heavy duty research in prep for grad school.

Also, Cornell has one of the strongest vet programs in the world and you can take classes there as an undergrad.
