Ok, so what's the deal on berkeley vision/goggles? I've heard from SO many cal guys about how ugly the girls are over there. I think it's a gross exaggeration because they really can't be that bad. Maybe the dudes are jealous because they can't get any, even from so-called ugly girls.

Well, I don't know -- essentially, it's in the eye of the beholder. If you want the most beautiful women who maybe even put tons of effort into looking as awesome as possible, maybe not so many here. There are some of those too though, I am certain. I came from a high school with very beautiful women, and I doubt I'm making any concessions here.

There are, I am sure, plenty of fairly intelligent, and fairly attractive ones at Berkeley. I think if intelligence just isn't at all attractive to you, you will have a very hard time. If it is even a somewhat significant factor, you'll be fine. You probably should prefer fairly pretty, and intelligent girls to pure gorgeous looks though.

I'm pretty sure it all depends on your preference... Why don't you visit the school and decide for yourself?

Above is true ^. The main way to see if your preferences are met by the school is to consider what I said above. Maybe guys come from high schools where many girls are amazingly pretty, and these particular girls don't end up at Berkeley. There will be the intelligent but annoying, grade-obsessed people at Berkeley, and then just the plain intelligent and hard-working, interesting people. I prefer the latter, as grade-sharks somewhat turn me off, though I understand sometimes you have to be like that.

Depends on your perspective. I come from a school where girls are pretty fancy and pretty, but most of them really don't come close to Berkeley standards (in regards to academics that is).

IMHO, girls here really aren't that great. Yes, there's bound to be a few amazing looking ones and I've seen a couple. In general though, don't come here expecting the ultimate fantasy collage girls you see in movies.

Then again, you could visit here and think I'm totally wrong. Just goes to show that if you like them chicas, fine; if you don't, whatever.

"In general though, don't come here expecting the ultimate fantasy collage girls you see in movies."

I mean, also, someone's actual goals when finding company may go beyond just pure looks though nobody's denying that's always a factor.

I can't believe I spelled college "collage". Hahaha

i'm a girl btw. I was wondering because so many berkeley boys *****ed about the girls, that's all.

Im not actually at berkeley yet, but I think "berkeley vision" would simply stem from the fact that berkeley students are more intelligent that others, on average. Personally, I'm searching for a real relationship, and less of a one night stand. If you wanted to, its not that hard to visit UCSB or some other college and get real drunk, and find some so called "hotties" but will that really bring you happiness? I don't think so.

UCSB is dubbed the school for "beautiful people". That's a misconception because I visited the school a few weeks ago and found several, if not most, people who were normal looking at best. I'm assuming that the majority of SB students find tan, blonde girls really attractive. If you're not barbie or ken, you're ****ed.

freshhhh87- This concept of "Berkeley vision" is totally overstated. All I have to say is that don't come here with over-expectations or under-expectations. It's really just all about what you think.

There's a good amount of cute Asian girls in the business/econ classes.
