I’m an international student, and I’ve been accepted by Berkeley for EECS, Georgia Tech, University of Washington Seattle, and a few other universities for Computer Science. Which course would be the best and most challenging? Berkeley is $14k/yr more expensive than GTech/UW, is this course worth it?
Did you get direct admission to CS at Washington?
Nope, but I’ve appealed the decision, as I had a lot of new information regarding my application.
What other universities for CS, at what prices?
Getting into CS at Washington without direct admission is highly competitive.
University of Michigan Ann Arbor, UIUC (direct to CS) I’m not too keen on these universities due to their location. Also, they’re 3-5k cheaper than Berkeley
I would forget UW without the direct admit. The odds of getting in are low, from what I understand.
There’s another thread going on where another person was comparing UCB with GT where the cost difference is $200K ($50K a year), which is too much. For a $56K ($14K a year) difference though, I personally would think that that would be worth it for UCB, especially since you are direct admit with EECS. Though GT is a Top 10 school, so either way you are good.
Thank you for your response!
