Which one is better?

pre-med: NW

Yeah, generally come to Berkeley if you want to do something for either pure knowledge’s sake or you want to be an engineer. For many other pursuits, there are other places that must be just as good for your academic purposes, and will offer more personal education.

well at NU youre gonna have more access to classes and stuff/more attention since theres less kids and more money, i guess it also depends on what you want to major in, berkeley would have a slight edge in engineering, and business since NU has no undergrad program

for undergrad prestige, they’re pretty even. Berkeley has the edge in engineering, computer science and business though. Berkeley’s weather is fantastic. The campus is beautiful. The students are generally friendly and accommodating. You’ll meet people from almost all over the world. It’s amazing!

NU’s major drawback for me is its climate. I can’t stand too much cold half the year or so. But NU is a great school with great reputation and resources.

I’d choose Berkeley.

What about English major? Which one is better?

There was a thread regarding Northwestern that made it look terrible. The students said that the profs don’t keep their office hours, even before exams, and sexual assaults happen a lot and the university responds by asking the assailants to write apology letters or leave parties before their victims.

Berkeley is much more prestigious than Northwestern. Even U of Chicago is apparently rated above Northwestern.
