So I just got into Berkeley and I plan on majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering (I might major in Spanish, too). I live in Indiana, so I have Indiana resident tuition at Purdue.

Which school would give me a better CEE degree? Does one have a better job market? Or are they pretty much on par with one another?

Thanks!

not on par, because they’re different. Berkeley is a really prestigious school that’s renowned overall as a university. Purdue as not fancy but very dangerous in terms of engineering.

it’s pretty simple, if you can go to Berkeley w/out taking out loans (parents got you covered), then it’s a no brainer. But if not, I don’t see why anyone would turn down instate tuition at a top engineering school like purdue and go somewhere else for 30k tuition, I just don’t know.

then you can graduate and go where ever you want for grad school sense it’s free (assistantship)

thanks! hopefully i can find enough scholarships to get to cal

if you can get into Berkeley out of state that means you will probably get scholarship money at Purdue, scholarship money and in state is a no brainer to me.

Purdue. It’s good enough in engineering and no one will care about the quality of the Spanish program.

Go to Purdue and graduate with little to no debt.
