Berkeley vs. UCLA

I was accepted into both UCBerkeley and UCLA as a neuroscience major and plan on having a premed emphasis. Which school is generally better for sciences and which would be better as a premed?

academically it doesn't matter. both are tough schools but are very strong in the sciences. go to the school where you would be happier as a student living on campus.

would ucla be a better choice since it has a med. school and ucla-harbor hospital?

well for berk, i heard many do research at UCSF

What? That would be really hard to do, since the UCB-UCSF commute would be crazy (BART to Mission and then MUNI via the nJudah?). Goodness knows you can't drive that because you wouldn't be able to park on either end.

they do the research in the summer at ucsf
sorry for the misunderstanding.- yes parking is like impossible at san franscico

Ah, yes. I don't think the research is so much the problem, since I'm sure Berkeley has a lot of life science stuff going on. The question is clinical exposure and such. I'm sure Alta Bates isn't accepting the flood of Berkeley premeds... so where do they go?
