So today I found out that I was accepted into both UC Berkeley and USC. I did not expect this. I didn’t expect to get into either so I did not expect to have to make a choice. Let’s assume cost isn’t an issue.
Major: Political Science
USC:
Pros: Smaller class sizes, larger endowment, more laid back
Cons: Less international reputation, too sports-centric, not particularly strong in Political Science from what I’ve heard
Berkeley:
Pros: I like the SF area much more than LA area, It’s one of the best academic institutions in the world, renowned for political science, I can get more AP credit from them because the requirements are less stringent
Cons: I’m admitted as an FPF student, more cutthroat
Opinions? Guidance? I think I’m leaning towards Berkeley but I feel like I could end up missing out by not fully considering USC. I just don’t want to end up at Berkeley and thinking “I wish I’d chosen USC.” I do intend to visit both.
