Berkeley Waitlist 2020

Hi,
I was placed on the Berkeley waitlist for the Class of 2020 and am really hoping to get in. Have any stats been released for this year yet? I know they say they will get back to students BY June 1 but last year did students hear back earlier?

Look for the very active “UC Berkeley – Class of 2020 Waitlist” thread for lots of helpful information

my son got in yesterday- he is freaking out

@wardgrl33 into which school? Chemistry?

natural science- we went up there this weekend and talked with his friend who attends.

How are they notifying us? Will we get an email or do we just have to periodically check the portal?

I got off the waitlisted and accepted yesterday. They sent me an email that something in my application had changed. I only have until monday to decide if I want to go to UCSB or UCB now… I got into CCS at UCSB so idk… And I’m really salty at UCB right now because I’ve taken more ap’s than anyone at my school, spent a summer at a college taking a class, and have taken two classes online outside of my needed classes, am valedictorian, and just got off the waitlist. My friend who had a c in ap calc and stuff like that also got off the waitlist the same time I did, yet she didn’t get into UCLA or UCSB and the only thing we can think of that got her into UCB is that she wrote in her personal statement that she’s a vegetarian…

One of my teachers (gosh, virtually the only one who cares about good colleges) told me that it seems like UCB ignored the Central Valley in admissions. I mean, we don’t know that for sure, but she talked to her teacher friends from other schools and that’s what it seems to be (which freaking pisses me off because that is so wrong to exclude an area)… Maybe not true, but literally no one at my school directly got into UCB.

I think UCB might release acceptances, depending on who agrees to go, every monday until that June 1 or something

Are there any international kids who got in off the waitlist yet?

@krkausen maybe your school just isn’t competitive compared to other schools. That plays a factor in admissions.
