<p>You have to apply through the UC Application… you need a GPA of 4 and a minimum of 700 on each section of the SAT I… </p>
<p>I’m currently a freshman in his and have a 4.0. In what ways can I get involved as a freshman?</p>
<p>There are no guarantees, but consider these steps:</p>
<ol>
<li><p>Be a California resident or have parents willing to pay the out-of-state price.</p></li>
<li><p>Keep getting top-end grades in rigorous high school courses (or courses at a local college if you “use up” your high school’s offerings).</p></li>
<li><p>Do well on the SAT and/or ACT.</p></li>
<li><p>Achieve highly in an extracurricular.</p></li>
<li><p>Apply and write good essays.</p></li>
