Hello guys,
I applied to UCB for next fall as a transfer student, and I just realized that I will not be able to fulfill the breadth requirements (I will be short one class, Spanish, and there is no way I can take the class next semester). Should I still apply or cancel my application, because I've heard that UCB is really strict with their breadth requirements. My major is molecular biology which is very competitive. Do I have a chance, if any at all, even in the slightest, to get an acceptance. My GPA is a 3.65 and I have A's in pretty much all my undergrad prerequisite courses. And I worked very hard on my personal statement.

Why don’t you directly ask the admissions office at Cal?

Foreign language requirement can be fulfilled by HS courses if you took them. If that doesn’t apply to you, consider adding an explanation in your Transfer Update promising to take the class in summer term. Then keep your fingers crossed.

AskMsSun it says we can’t make up classes during summer term : (

Do something to take it next semester.

Why can’t you take it next semester? Figure out a way. You’ve come this far.

I’m already loaded up with units I have to take. There’s no way I can fit a foreign language into my schedule. And actually my GPA is a 3.75 after including the classes I took in fall.

I know the UCs don’t count summer courses, but it doesn’t hurt for you to offer to take the course during summer. The effort counts.
