Oh alright thanks! That’s what I was thinking. Well that’s great news haha! Fall or Spring, I’m going to Berklee!

I just called the admissions office and was told that I should wait “a few more days” before I get my scholarship result. This is really exasperating!!

Tjolmsy, I am including your acceptance over on the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1260441-master-list-music-school-acceptances-fall-2012-a-47.html

It would be nice if you could tell us your intended major at Berklee and your primary instrument or voice. If you have any other music acceptances, we would like to hear about those as well.

Sure BassDad, no problem.

My primary instrument is vocals. However, they know I can play guitar and piano as well. I also had the chance to show them during my audition. My intended major is songwriting and/or contemporary composition.

Berklee is actually the only college I applied to. I guess I lucked out because I know you should always have a backup. However, I’ve been wanting to attend Berklee since I was 12 and had no desire for any other school haha.

Thank you, Tjolmsy, I will update your listing.

I got my email on March 30th at 9pm. I was accepted! Though I will have to defer. I plan on attending for Fall 2013.

fxbeast … if you are only waiting on a scholarship result, I assume you at least were accepted. I hope you hear good news this week! Also glad you were able to talk to them today.

Congrats on all the accepts!

Tjolmsy, you are accepted.

My son goes to a different college, but they send out a lot of those second semester acceptance letters. A fair amount of freshmen at any college either drop out or transfer after the first semester, and colleges like to keep their program full, so delaying acceptance to the second semester is fairly common at some schools, especially ones that have lots of really well qualified students students applying.

I received my letter from Berklee at exactly 12 midnight on the 30th going into the 31st. I was accepted with a 25,220 dollar scholarship, cant beat that i guess?

hey fellow class mate!

I contacted my advisor today and he did confirm my acceptance. Haven’t heard anything about a scholarship though… however I didn’t file for my FASFA until after I received my acceptance. Today in fact lol. So who knows, maybe I have one coming.

BerkleeGirl12, I would like to add you to the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1260441-master-list-music-school-acceptances-fall-2012-a-49.html

I would appreciate it if you could tell us your intended major at Berklee and what instrument you play, or if you sing. Also, any other college admissions for schools where you would be a music major.

BerkleeGirl12: Congrats! Sure you will have a great time studying there! I applied to Berklee too but I haven’t heard anything from them even it seems like everyone got their response. Just out of curiosity, what type of music or what song did you play in the audition? I played a classical piece piano, and I think I chose a wrong piece because I guess they might want someone who is good at contemporary stuffs, not really classical. Its just my thoughts haha

I really hope that during my time at Berklee, one of my favorite musicians comes to visit like John Mayer haha

tjolmsy, John Mayer really did come this past fall, as well as many other famous musicians. You will definitely have the opportunity to see famous people. As a freshman, it may be in the larger concert hall, but as you get to upper level classes there are smaller, more specialized classes (songwriting, guitar, performance tips) with these kinds of people.

So I emailed the Office of Scholarships and they said I would hear back sometime before the end of the month…this has become extremely frustrating!! Anyone have any idea why they could be taking so long?

Yes, because you deferred, you may be in a special bucket. They want you but may not have scholarship money to offer you until someone who was offered scholarship declines.

@FxBeast, my son is in the exact same situation. I have contacted Berklee for clarification on some points, because the wording is ambiguous regarding Spring of 2013. You have to let them know about your option (1 - 4 in my sons letter) before they will consider you for any acceptance, though.

Regardless, they said that the scholarship info won’t be sent out until after the May 11 decision on the Fall 2012 waitlist. It kind of puts us in a chicken/egg scenario. If you don’t know the scholarship details, how can you fully commit? If you have tons of money, then it shouldn’t matter.

They also told me that the deposit we make to secure a seat would be refunded in full if we let them know my son will not attend within a month of the deposit. We haven’t crossed the bridge regarding housing because we won’t know until May 11.

If you contact them again and get a different answer, please post what you find out.

Hope this helps.

I got my e-mail at 11:00 on march 31. I got accepted with a scholarship! I’m thinking I’m going, but not sure yet.

@AimlessArtist, when did you audition? It would be interesting to some on this thread if you auditioned on March 10 in Boston. What is your primary instrument?

Regardless, congratulations on acceptance and scholarship!
