Would anyone know whether acceptance/rejection letters are sent alphabetically or by the instrument auditioned on/area of specialization planned? And are they typically sent in bulk on the day expected or throughout the day? Thanks.

We are still waiting. A friend who also applied got an email at midnight confirming acceptance.

Pianomom12, here’s some past “waiting” threads. You may want to do a Berklee search within each thread (open the thread first, then use the search this thread feature). I’m pretty sure there’s a past mention somewhere.

Look at last year’s Master list as well, and try pm’ing a couple of the Berklee admits for direct, recent info. Best of luck.

Thanks Svenscot. Yes, a few did get e-mails at midnight (all on the same instrument) thus my question. May I ask your/your child’s instrument?

guitar. accepted friend auditioned on bass - different letter name and admissions advisor. What’s the profile of the midnight emails you know of?

My D singer/songwriter got an email last night at midnight east coast time -accepted!

Smithanan, congrats to the family on d’s acceptance.

I’ve listed it on the master acceptance thread here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1064028940-post65.html. as singer/songwriter, but in the interest of clarity if you could specify the exact program path(s) one of us will correct it.

Berklee sends emails to the email address the student gave when they applied on their application. My S’s rolled in at exactly one minute after midnight (guitar). I believe it’s regardless of instrument. But this is only for those who applied by the Early Action deadline (they are either deferred, accepted or rejected). Good luck!

Hi Violadad. She applied as a songwriting major and her major instrument is voice, she also plays guitar.

Just remembered I had read somewhere that Berklee students don’t officially declare majors until they get there, and the email didn’t say anything about major. So maybe they’re just plain 'ole accepted, but not technically into a program. I dunno.

I called Berklee this morning. Was told that emails are going out through the day and that they’ve had several calls from people not received them yet. Does anyone know if any of the midnight mails actually included accepted, deferred and rejected? Only hearing about accepted so far.

make sure to check your spam! mine came at 11:03 but i didnt see it until 11:45 because it was in spam. 11 oclock time as in chicago time. so midnight boston

Smithanan, I amended the posting on the master.

jazz/shredder mom, not sure if your comment was general, or addressed to me. Just for general info, I asked in the interest of trying to keep the info on the Master Lists as concise and accurate as possible.

You may well be correct in that a major is not necessarily declared until a student is matriculated, but for the specific purpose of the Masters it’s nice to have the intended program, discipline, and instrument clarified.

The lists are not only a place to celebrate the students’ achievements but also serve as a reference tool for folks down the road.

Gotcha, Violadad. Makes perfect sense!

And I should mention that the email came at 9:01pm PST, so 12:01 EST

Call to admissions this morning confirmed that a number of emails did not go out ‘due to a technical error’. Remaining notifications to be mailed today or very soon after.
