Could someone compare these schools </p>
<p>Professional school vs. liberal arts school vs. a university setting</p>
<p>What are the pros and cons? Any advice you could give?</p>
<p>There are numerous Berklee threads and posts. Most are general but a few touch on the music production program; a few on Columbia Chicago (mostly about the music production aspect), and little on Cal Poly.</p>

<p>In glancing at Cal Poly’s website , I could not find program specific detail, and the music path is a BA apparently across all disciplines. I would not expect anywhere near the major depth you would get in a BM or BS variant given the nature of the typical BA curriculum, but that can be either a plus or minus contingent on your needs/wants.</p>
<p>Berklee is Berklee. It is the Vahalla for many, but it may not be the place for everyone. And it is expensive, but can be generous to certain applicants. It may not be worth amassing large debt.</p>
