Besides SSAT Scores...

Those are good thoughts, but I'm afraid that none of them really work. The Exeter alum that my dad knows doesn't know me all that well, though he has seen me quite a few times over the years, so this could work in a pinch. I did publish an article with my dad, but it was mostly through him because he had published several previous articles with the journal. There wasn't an editor that worked with us on that. As for someone in the UK, there isn't really anyone that I could tap for a recommendation. So it seems that the teacher would be my best bet right now.

Thanks for the input, though, if you have any more ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

tommiester, you'll need to use someone that know's you well. What about your previous guitar teacher. Did you have a long term relationship? Is your 4th/5th grade teacher "pretty" close or sufficiently close enough to know you well. if they know you well, they are in a better position to speak of your character, stick-to-itiveness, etc. sleep on it tom, there is sure to be that ahha moment for you.

I think that the 4th/5th grade teacher will work pretty well because I had her for accelerated english and math in 4th grade, and accelerated english in 5th grade, every day. She also now has my sister, so I still see her from time to time. I would say that she knows me quite well.

tom, there you go, I guess it's settled. Good for you. Who knows you may come up with a better one later. What's next on your punch list. Go getem!

Tom, that teacher does sound like a good one. The teacher I assist also was my sixth grade teacher, so she knows me very well. I was sure almost immediately that I wanted her as one of my recomenders.

I totally agree eunixd. i havent been prepping myself for secondary school since i was 10, so i don't have a hook either. it seems important to be at least well-rounded, though i imagine that having pages of EC's turns admissions officers away. or so i hope. i have a few interests that i'm really involved in. What schools are you looking at everyone?
