Can someone please recommend the Best ACT Math guide to improve Math score of 30 to 34 or better? Am open to other suggestions on how to improve the Math score by Dec. 9th seating.
what is your weakness ? content or time? how many times you have taken it? What grade are you in ? What Math level have you completed? How many timed practices have you done?
I would say more content as there are a couple of topics that has not been covered in my curriculum. I am a junior and am currently in pre-calc. Have taken 2 timed practice tests and both test I scored 30 on the math portion.
Purchase the online ACT test review available on the ACT.org site. NOT the videos but the other test review.
The question bank is deep. The tutorial is detailed. Every time they “update” the math portion of the ACT test (i.e. add new or slightly different types of problems) they will add this section into the review also.
In addition to the above on online ACT, I suggest you try to learn those missing concepts. My kid took ACT during junior year when she was in honor pre-calc. I also found out that her honor Algebra 2 did not cover conic sections (circle and parabola) and matrices. It did not take too much time to prepare for them as the questions in those areas were simple. However, missing one or two questions can potentially cost you one or two points and there is not much room for error. You did not say whether timing is an issue, if it is, try to do as many practices as you. Take a look at “crack act” (one word)
Thank you for the suggestions. Will get on it and hopefully see an improvement.
Hi there! I would write down what knowledge you needed to answer the questions you got wrong/didn’t fully understand. When you have a list of topics, go to the YT channel of Khan Academy (or their site) and check if they have a video about each topic, which I’m sure they do. Continue doing this while also keeping an eye on the syllabus and making sure you know all of the stuff you need to know. Once you have covered everything: practise!
Good luck
Thank you everyone for your support and suggestions. Good luck to all taking the test on Dec 9th
