What do you guys think is the best strategy for reading? This is the only part that I am not improving at, so I really need a good strategy if I want to get a 32+. If you could (1) say the strategy, (2, if applicable) say where you found the strategy, or (3) the score you got. Thanks everyone!

anyone? +10char.

last bump. D’:

Are you running out of time\ falling asleep during the test?

falling asleep. I feel like i can’t focus. i always have plenty of time.
thank you for the response :)

oh and just to say where I am at, on the June ACT, I got a 29 in reading. My goal is to get a 32+ in Reading. If ANYONE has any ideas, please help. :/

My strategy for taking the ACT reading is to quickly skim the paragraphs, and memorize what I think will be key words, ideas and concepts (their location on the page) and when I get to a question, I’ve normally memorized where on the page the relevant material is and i just go back to that part and quickly re-read it…

I made it up on my second time taking the ACT and I got a 34 in reading, so I think it works pretty well
The first time I took the ACT i made the mistake of reading the questions first, reading the passage, then re-reading the question, and re-reading the passage; I got all the questions right; but I ran out of time really early, so I got a 30…
I’m not really sure what to do about falling asleep other then keeping in mind that you’re taking an important test.

Solard - that seems like a good strategy, but I would definitely give a test run before implementing it… :)

Hopeful2b - you probably googled “ACT reading strategy” - there are tones of good hits there… Have a look

@Solar, that is actually a cool idea. I think I’m gonna try that tomorrow morning. I took another test today using my old strategy and I got a 32! Do you guys think if I kept working at it I could get a 34+? I feel like I get so nervous about the test when I get there that I need a 34+ so that in reality I can get a 32+

@Biud, God i’m an idiot, why didn’t i do that…
