Best Admitted Student Event to Attend

Hi everyone :]

I am planning a trip in mid-late April to visit USC and other colleges in California I might attend.
Does anyone have feedback/opinions on Explore USC, Preview USC, or the On Campus Admitted Student Reception? What does the $50 fee/person cover for Explore USC?

Thanks!

I did Explore back in the day. They feed you, you get some swag – but this was back in March 2006, so things are probably different!

I went to Explore mainly as a way to convince my father USC was safe and a great school. Needless to say, it totally convinced him. It also let me meet other students, get a feel for parts of campus and just begin to appreciate the fact I’d be attending USC that fall.

I would definitely go to at least one event.

The Spring reception usually has dorm tours, so if you can make it, that’s a really good one.

Generally, the longer ones are better, since they get the chance to show you more things. I would recommend going to Explore.

My son and I went to the admitted student reception last spring. It was fast and furious, but we got what we needed out of it–a chance to see and get a feel for USC which allowed my son to decide that it was the place for him. (It was our first visit to the campus.)

Just left the Explore USC with my son an hour ago. It was wonderful! The $50 covers dinner the first day, breakfast and lunch the second day. My son stayed in the dorms with a student. We were there interviewing for the Presidential Scholarship so I don’t know how the itinerary is different, but it was a great way to really get the feel of the school.

Thanks for the input everyone!

I think Explore USC for non-interviewees is just one day?

That’s how I remember it…
