Is there any advice for preparing for the SAT? I am Sophomore going to be a junior and i'd like to start preparing now; what is your advice for the best results and high SAT scores?

Any study aids that you think may be helpful as such as: particular SAT prep books, study aids?

P.S: Math is the subject that I have the most trouble with, so any advice or aids that are the best in preparation for the math section would be great!

My advice for you would be to start studying now. If you simply learned a few vocabulary words a day from the plethora of lists online this would help you in the future greatly.

I would buy the general big book on the SAT, the one published by the college board, and go through that one first. After that you can go through workbooks to improve your skills in each of the subsections and gain practice so that you are prepared for the actual test.

You should get better in math over the next year through school so don’t worry too much about it. Buying and going through a SAT Math workbook probably wouldn’t hurt though. The SAT Math section contains a lot of problems that require a high degree of logical thinking rather than advanced problem solving skills. You need to be able to interpret the questions and know what to do to find the answer.

I too am a Sophomore going into my Junior year. However, my only problem is the Critical Reading.

Math is easy. Just make sure you know all the rules and practice a variety of different problems. As long as you’re meticulous and make sure you do everything correctly you should be well on your way to an 800.
----->Also Khan Academy is a good idea for review. Just google “Khan Academy” and you’ll see why it’s so popular.

Writing is the same way. Just look up grammar rules you don’t know, learn prepositions, etc. Write the essays as well as you can for all of the practice tests you take and you’ll get used to the time constraints.

Good Luck!

P.S.–Google “Pwn the SAT”; it’s a website by a guy who got a 2400 and he has a bunch of ridiculously hard practice SAT Math tests with awesome questions that he made himself. He also has an epic section devoted to the SAT Math.

If you can only get an 800 on one section, at least make it the math.
