Best AP English Language and Composition Review Book

So, what is the best book to use in reviewing for the Lang. and Comp. exam? I need to get a 5, so please mention your score in your response.

Thanks!

You have to be naturally good at English to get a five on the exam. I got 5 steps to a 5, CliffsAP, and princeton review, and yet, I still got a 3. I am not naturally good at English. CliffsAP seems to be the most recommended.

What was the most difficult part on the test?
What book helped you most?

Thanks

I haven’t taken the AP Lang exam right now, but I’m using Peterson’s review book. It seems to be immensely useful.

I used Princeton Review(did horrible on the tests, like 35/54 MC right), 5 Steps (was getting like 40/54) and Cliffs (was gettiing from 43-47 right). I got a 5 on the exam but one of my friends who is a better writer but a little slower on the MC got a 4 so I think this exam depends on speed, reading skills and writing skills. The only thing I think you can do is practice but I don’t think it will significantly change the skills you have gained throughout high school. Also, if you were buying one review book, I would recommend Cliffs for the 6 tests. I got PR from the library and 5 Steps from our school. I believe 5 Steps is the second best.

I only had half a semester of AP Lang. I used Princeton Review 2010 and I got a 5 (so did the only other girl from my school who got a 5). I read the whole thing the two nights before the test. Like others have said, you need to be a naturally good writer, and naturally good at English. If you have high SAT writing and CR subscores, or high ACT reading scores you’ll be fine, it was pretty much exactly like the reading on the ACT. The prompts were also easier than expected for me.

Would studying the SAT reading/writing in conjunction with the AP be beneficial for both?
