Best Architecture Program?

I am plan to major in architecture in college, and my list of schools I plan on applying to are: Cal Poly Pomona
Cal Poly SLO
University of Texas at Austin
Georgia Tech
and Clemson University.

Which school has the best architecture program? What school is the easiest to get admitted/financial aid?

I am going to be a senior next year. My SAT score is a 1650 but I DEFINITELY plan on taking it again along with the ACT as well. I dont know my exact GPA but I'm sure it is at least a 3.5. What should I keep in mind when applying to these schools? Thanks in advance

Cal Poly Pomona is much easier to get into than SLO… But SLO is much better

The best school for architecture is Cornell University, which is no surprise since its an Ivy League with an established architecture program. If you are not aiming for an Ivy League, I would say UT-Austin and Syracuse University would be the best schools for you. UT-Austin provides the best aid because of its low cost, but Syracuse does provide a more “prestigious” education if you are willing to pay about 20k more after the grants they provide you with. When you are applying for these schools, make sure you have your portfolio and interview nailed, as it is very important for architecture school. Also, make sure you are fulfilling the high school requirements for those schools. For example, Cornell University requires students to take the SAT II Math. Other than that, it just like applying to any other major. :)

Are you a California resident or a Texas resident? You’re not going to get any need-based financial aid from the other school. I was accepted to UT Austin, but since I’m a California resident, UT Austin didn’t offer anything other than the pell grant and the rest in loans (EFC=0). I don’t think $40,000 in loans for 5 years is anybody’s cup of tea.

accepted to UT Austin for arch! out of state tuition is not terrible, plus u can get instate tuition 2nd year

The best program really varies depending on what you want emphasized in your education. Come focus more on design, sustainability, construction, every program is different. Cornell is top-ranked, yes, but there are many great programs. Getting to know each program is a great way to see which would fit you and your interests best

The Tex Mex restaurants around UT Austin alone make studying there worthwhile :).
