<p>By “graduate school”, do you mean a PhD program, or professional school (MD, JD, etc.)?</p>
<p>PhD programs do care about your undergraduate school, but not necessarily the same way that general prestige rankings tend to go. General prestige rankings are based on the worst undergraduates at the school, while PhD programs are concerned about whether the best students in the major at the school will make good PhD students (in terms of course work preparation and quality research opportunities). Professional schools are generally said to be more GPA and test score (MCAT, LSAT, etc.) oriented.</p>
