So I already have an account at citizens bank, but I want to open another one with a new bank. I was thinking Bank of America, but I'm all ears for different opinions. Thanks!

Bank of America is great - convenient in Cambridge and all throughout Boston.

As always, I recommend [HUECU](https://www.huecu.org/checking-accounts/student-banking/). The Harvard university Credit Union which is a non-profit and
right beside Au Bon Pain in the Square.

D will be continuing to bank with Bank of America. She has checking, savings, and now a charge with them. We had our local branch show us the B of A ATM locations in Cambridge and the list was huge. I don’t mean to take business from HUECE but I think the B of A availability is valuable. I have no idea about account fees. D’s accounts are cross linked with ours so there are no fees. If D had fees, I might feel differently.

No fees for students at B of A.

my son uses B of A and with so many branches all over it’s very easy for me to deposit funds into his acct if I need to. No fees for students is great also

As an international student, I chose HUECU, the main reason being that HUECU is more liberal than the for-profit banks in giving student loans to foreigners. It was also very convenient for me to open an account – all I had to do was send in a photocopy of my passport and Form I-20.

One thing, though: HUECU has an incoming wire fee of $5, which caught me off guard because such a fee is unheard of where I’m from (I think it’s a regulatory thing). Is this standard among US banks?
