Best BC freshman dorm on upper campus?

Before you remind me that I have no choice—two of my roommates (I’m doing a quad) are presidential scholars and can request a specific dorm building they want to be in. We’ve all agreed on upper campus, but can you guys please give some insight as to what freshman buildings on upper are the best?

Loyola fenwick Xavier claver group is solid . Four connected dorms. Single sex by floor. But a lot of new students you can meet.

Gabelli scholarships are nice.

thank you! did you live in any of these, and what was your experience/perks of your building?

D is freshman there so I’m sharing feedback from her. Close enough to laundry. Lots of people to meet and quiet. I think she liked that it’s actually a huge freshman dorm cut up into four sub dorms. All of upper seems pretty much good. I’ll text her and ask.

okay thank you so much!!

What’s the best Freshman dorm on the Newton campus?

@jessica0525 Daughter says Gonzaga is the newest on upper and nice. Fitzpatrick is great and Cheverous has been updated.
The the loyala complex mentioned earlier she now tells me is the worst for newness etc. it’s has a lot of kids to meet. And all upper is a really nice area.

@havingfunismy She didn’t know. Says they’re all good. @BCBoundMaybe would know. The rooms are bigger, no triples -forced or natural. And bigger windows and a lot of community spirit. The bus isnt great but the students there supposedly bond for life. It’s a thing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @privatebanker – I am concerned about Freshman having to rely on the bus, especially if it’s not reliable…

Oh it’s super reliable. Every five minutes. And it’s a beautiful little campus. They do a lot for them to have fun there. Upper isn’t exactly party central. That’s for sure. And for ball games etc they all hike down to alumni or conte. Same amount of time or less to bus over as the walk down.

It’s not like having to work in a coal mine. No offense to coal miners. Lol.

The Newton campus is really a life bonding experience. You can’t go wrong with Upper either.

I lived on Newton the first year it became a coed thing in the mid-70s (first year after purchase was all women). My friends who lived on Upper are amazed to this day at the level of friendships from their Newton friends. It’s like having a small LAC atmosphere in the midst of a bigger university.

As @privatebanker says: ‘It’s a thing’.
