Best Book For Reading Section? I heard PR is pretty awful when it comes to the reading section, is Kaplan any better? Thanks.

PR is good for the practice tests.

There are no good reading books for strategies. Read the passage, then answer questions. Underline proper nouns and dates while you're reading to make it easier to locate something important if you have to refer back to the passage.

Kaplan got me from 27 to 32

I honestly don't know if you need a revview book for the reading section because i originally got a 29 on the REAL ACT practice test. I went over which questions i got wrong and realized that every answer was in the passage. Some people take a good amount of time reading the passage to absorb the most amount of information so they won't have to refer to the passage but usually short term memory can't take in all of the information to answer each question. I just speed read through the passage so I have time to read the questions and go back to the article to find my answer. I usually allow 7-9 minutes per passage an 10 questions, depending on the difficulty of the passage. I did this for 2 more act practice reading sections and got a 31 and 33, respectively. Then on the June ACT I got a 35 on the reading section. This worked for me, but this does not mean that a review book isn't good because it very well might help you get even a 36. Just remember, this isn't the same as the SAT critical reading section and the questions are meant to be easier, just with a tighter time constraint. There is only 1 right answer for each question and it is always somewhere in the passage. Hope you find a way to get a high score
Good Luck!!

SparkNotes is actually pretty good.

kaplan brought me from a reading score of 23 to score of 34 composite with 23 reading = 2 30s and a 31..... composite with 34 reading = 35....
