<p>I know this has been asked countless times, but what's the consensus on the best prep book for SAT literature? I know I can do much better on the lit since I really stumbled on the poetry. I just guessed on almost all of the poetry questions and ended up with a 660. I know I did well on the prose. Anyways, what book would be best for me? PR, Barron's, REA, Kaplan, etc.?</p>
<p>the poetry is SICK. I took my first practice test today with my mouth agape the entire time. I had to go over each line at least twice. Why do poets write like that(very wordy sentences)?</p>

<p>I just used Barron's and Kaplan...but I don't think the review stuff in them helped me all that much - apart from the literary terms, you have to memorise those :P I mostly just used the books for their practice tests, definitely the best way to study!</p>
<p>I used Kaplan, but just to get a feel for the test. There's not a lot you can do to study, if you're good at it you'll be fine and if not you're not going to change it that much. Study poetry.</p>
<p>You can't study for the Lit Test.</p>
<p>I used Kaplan to practice, and memorize the literary terms ( know your poetry terms). Any book is good because they all have the same lit terms. But you can't study for interpreting poetry. You either know the one on the test or you don't.</p>

<p>What is in the SAT Literature? Has anyone taken it and is there like 5 essays to write or poetry to critique, or is it all critical reading and writing? or is it quizzing you on classic literature or etymology?</p>
