i'm planning to take the sat 2 world history this following october, and I was wondering which was the best book for preparation? and if you've taken it, could you post your score as well. thanks. appreciate it.

wait is it offered in october? i was checking the registration stuff and it didnt seem to offer it. Mayb i was just blind but can anyone double check that?

he's right only december and june
Check with your college choice and see if december is accepted, if not oh well, take something else, maybe US history. I might take it again depending if they say i can take it again. They being UCB. Since there application deadline is November 30. but you check with your college choice.
Good luck tell me what u find out!

oh my bad i guess i was wrong. yeah looks like only december and june, your right. but still, any book recommendations?

It looks to me like they're offering the subject tests...

Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you amar890, I'm taking world history in October. Only I'm re-taking mine, from a 700 I got in June.

I used Barron's, and I thought it was good, and am planning to use it again. I think the reason I didn't do as well as I would have liked is that I did really half-assed studying. So, hopefully, the second time round goes better. :)

Sat Subject tests are offered in october but the World history test specifically isnt. Its like language tests, they're only offered on specific test dates. In this case, WH is only offered in June and December. You guys can try to register, I guarantee you that WH won't be one of the test choices. And Shanfan, a 700 really isnt all that bad.

The kaplan book is really thorough in describing the history. Also, the practice tests were pretty hard, which gave me good practice.

odin64x: Afdytututtfg, you're right! That's so stupid that they only offer world history twice, it ruined the schedule I made for all the tests I have to take next year... :(

Yeah, 700's not a terrible grade, but I plan to apply to some pretty selective schools, and I feel kind of bad, since I'm planning on majoring in history/anthropology, so...yeah.

You can always make it up by taking US History if you haven't yet.

Yes, that is quite true...I'm definitely taking US History, since I'm in AP next year and all. Dsdyfhfyrt I don't know, I want to get these stupid tests over and done with and go to college already!
