Best Book For Vocab?

My AP English teacher is trying to implement SAT vocab into her course.

What books would you guys recommend for building SAT Vocabulary?

I used PR's big book on SAT1 and the Blue Book and I wrote down every single word in both books' practice tests that I didn't know and memorized them too. I took the test in November and every single word that was on the test was on the actual test was on both of them (with the exception of lassitude).

^Are you serious?!! WOW....

Yeah. I'll admit though, that I was pretty darn lucky. lol.

I used PR, Kaplan, Barron's.

Yeah, the PR book is really accurate. I also got their Word Smart book.

I have every single word choice from ::::
*8 tests in the official College Board book
*6 tests on the official college board prep course
*3 officially realeased PSAT exams

Each exam has about 140 word choices to use for sentence completion. You do the math. :) I'll type up the lists someday if I get time. I didn't see one word on the actual test that I didn't know.

I used Lemony Snickett's Series of Unfortunate Events, and I got a CR score of 710.

Would you guys recommend doing word roots/prefixes?

I didn't but I got a pretty good verbal score. It might help for some people.

I didn't specifically study them but I do think that it helps if you know some of the common ones.
