<p>I know that the blue College Board book is the best book for the SATs, but what other books do you think are really good?</p>

<p>PR and Kaplan advice is good. Other than Collegeboard preps, I would think PR would be the closest. Although I don’t recommend this until finishing all CB material.</p>

<p>Barron’s offers the one big book, and also a workbook for each subject. I would recommend the writing workbook from Barron’s. Don’t get the other workbooks. I’ve also heard some good things about Barron’s 2400, but I’ve never used it.</p>

<p>The reading workbook for Barron’s is okay, but not spectacular. It’s mostly useful for the practice tests, but the vocab is too easy and it doesn’t give a ton of help with the passage questions. I wouldn’t recommend it, but it’s not awful either.</p>
<p>The Barron’s math workbook, on the other hand, is terrible. Although the organization is good, the practice problems are so thoroughly laden with mistakes that it is frustrating and difficult to work with. The book was clearly poorly edited, and actually taught some concepts incorrectly. I hear that Dr. Chung’s math is good, and so is the Gruber math workbook, but I haven’t used either.</p>
<p>I got a 2360 (760 CR) w/o the Blue Book.
I used Barrons (cursory skim) and PR 11 Practice Tests.
PR was excellent, though an occasional mistake.
Barrons 3500 word list is immense; just skim it and know the hot words. I probably went through only 500 words. Many showed up.</p>
<p>I think Kaplan is easier than normal, and Barron is sometimes harder. PR may be closest. However, barron’s writing workbook is really good and I recommend it too</p>
<p>Idk about most people, but for me Barons is always the best choice. They’re tests are significantly harder than the real test, which makes me that much more prepared. For the ACT, I scored around a 25/26 on the Barons prep book, and ended up getting a 34 on the real deal.</p>
