^^life of pi is super nice

Harry Potter 3
Pride and Prejudice
The Great Gatsby
A Separate Peace

probably more..but I can't think right now.

The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind!!! Ivybound, I cringe at your choice, Jane Eyre. Sorry to be obnoxious, but I really thought that book was torture. On a more positive note, I think that Going Postal and Making Money by Terry Pratchett are absolutely amazing, what with the snide humor and sarcasm directed towards our society while at the same time providing outlandish stories that will bring a smile to your face!

Let's see, what else...American Prometheus (a biography of J. Robert Oppenheimer) is interesting, though not much entertainment to speak of (it's a biography, whaddya expect?)

George Orwell's (actually Eric Blair's) 1984 and Animal Farm are for sure must-reads.

Oh, and on a side note, Mr. Popper's Penguins (I forget the author's name) was my favorite book ever when I was in elementary school.

TWILIGHT!!! haha... i'm just kidding

my favourites are:
The Great Gatsby
A Tale of Two Cities
Pride and Prejudice
and more..

yeah, sorry but I must put Harry Potter 3 on my list too :D
Beloved by Tony Morrison
The Kite Runner
when I was younger, the first book I sobbed while reading was The Bridge to Terabethia

Great Gatsby, really?! I didn't like it much.... but maybe it was just the way my teacher read it.

I know it sounds horrible, but the best books i've ever read I've never finished. I have no clue why, but I can't. I've gotten like 400 pages into both of them, but i can't finish them!

they are:
catch-22
a thousand years of solitude

best book i've finished (thus, my favorite):
a seperate peace

kite runner should be on my list somewhere. i just finished it a week ago or so, though, so i need to let it sit longer before i put it up there w/ my others.

Gatsby dies QQ -_-;; oh and its a tie between V. and Catcher in the Rye cuz bein angsty is hip~

I liked (haha such a lie) Proust. Finished 1, 2, 3 (****ing boring.) Sodom and Gomorrah seems pretty interesting (heehee)

I read some Ayn Rand during the break, I think it's amazing. Life changing.

MBP:

Solitude was also a life changing book. Garcia Marquez pulled me into literature and reading. I suggest "Cholera" and "Melancholy Whores". Pretty good books, somewhat hard to chew.

Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut.

ham on rye- charles bukowski

And Then There Were None.... its also called 10 Little Indians
[/quote]
I've read this. Scared the living crap out of me! Then again, I read it in seventh grade and I'm pretty jumpy.

Me too! Yours, however is more acceptable, as I was in ninth grade when i read it :]

Because 1984 is scary good. And by scary good I mean scary, and good.

On that topic:

"A bald Natalie Portman, a sunglasses-sporting Keanu Reeves, and a pale Christian Bale. Believe it or not, even if youve never read 1984, these superstars have burned its premise and plot onto your Shmoopster brain. Oh yes indeedy, you know 1984 like the back of your hand, and more than likely it hits home for you. Still not quite sure what were talking about? V for Vendetta, The Matrix, Equilibrium weve been imagining what life would be like if it were ruled by an oppressive, tyrannical government for years, and probably will continue to imagine it for a long time to come. But the question on our minds is, why ?"

Shmoop: 1984 - George Orwell

These guys really hit home as to why we all love this book.

Kurt's Breakfast of Champions is pretty good too.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The Little Prince and Memories of My Melancholy Whores tie for second, tho.

ender's game, though the other books in the series are not so great

The Anarchist Cookbook, an american classic

Harry Potter 1 - 7 are sooo epic

Night by Elie Wiesel for sure.
1984
The Great Gatsby
To Kill a Mockingbird
Their Eyes Were Watching God

Teen Reads: (I'm sorry, but) Twilight. Harry Potter. 13 Little Blue Envelopes.

My favorites are definitely the Great Gatsby, the Catcher in the Rye, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Dubliners, Memoirs of A Geisha, Flowers for Algernon, The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and anything by Edgar Allan Poe....

also LOVE Harry Potter. and the Sisterhood series.

Tales of a fourth grade nothing
