@lovesanatomy, Brave New World was a awesome book but read it solo.

But in school THE CATCHER IN THE RYE!! Best school book I ever read :):):):)

^Lol Catcher is my least favorite book :P

My favorite is 1984 for AP Literature, yet sadly we aren’t spending any time whatsoever to discuss the book other than the essay turned in over the summer (WE WORK ON POINTLESS THINGS INSTEAD). It’s very rage worthy, especially coupling that with all the social science and contemporary issues… And I love the logic because I’m a math brained person.

:O:O How dare you lol!

Why do you not like it so much?

To Kill a Mockingbird.
tries to sneak away quietly
Hey! Put down those rocks! You can hurt some one with----

Into the Wild. I have no idea why I loved it so much.

John Grishams books are the best

The Fault in our Stars-John Green

The Kite Runner! And Brave New World, even though we read it later this year (I’ve already read it and know that I LOVE it)

You got to read The Fault in our Stars in class?! You are so lucky, I wish my class was that cool

I’d have to say that “stranger in a strange land” by Robert A. Heinlein was my favorite book that we had to read. It was on our list of options in 10 college prep English .

Among required books? The Fountainhead, hands down. 1984 was good though, so was The Scarlet Letter… Actually, all of the books I’ve had to read were good. Except for Poisonwood Bible – the first 100 pages of it are awful.

Among all books? Well… (despite its simplicity) the Perks of Being a Wallflower is awesome; so is Atlas Shrugged (I’m an Ayn Rand fan, ahah), and Anthem’s okay. Anything written by Jonathan Kellerman or Faye Kellerman (they’re husband and wife, and both excellent authors) is exceptional, especially Moon Music (Fay) and Butcher’s theater (Jonathan). Lisa Unger’s also good, and Harlan Coben is a wizard with words.

The alchemist by Paulo Coelho

@Josiahad
Catcher in the Rye… Just didn’t appeal to me. Swear words and I could care less about the story if it doesn’t make me really think–I mean the gears in my mind have to spin a certain way for me to like a book. Some mindblowing concept, something unique and creative. I hated reading through what bored me, took away too much time, and had to bear the headache every time Holden… I clear my mind whenever I run into words like those because they are bad thoughts to have.

Freshman year: The five people you meet in heaven
Sophomore year: The alchemist
Junior year: Anthem(Loved this book!!)

Best books I’ve read in high school were 1984, Of Mice & Men & Animal Farm. In the other hand I found Catcher in the rye, pretty boring & found Holden’s attitude annoying.
