Best Books for US and World History?

I'm taking them in October- WH for the first time, and USH to raise my 660. I used Kaplan for US history, and wasn't very impressed. Any other recommendations?

hey sorry but world history isnt offered in october, only December and June

Oh, woops. Thanks for letting me know. :) Have any recommendations for US, then?

I think I used Princeton review for both (they are combined into one book). And I ended up with really high scores in both. I did have the advantage of taking the SATII right after the AP test for both, though. But I liked the Princeton Review book.

Ush - Amsco

Barron's AP World for the SAT II. I only read up to 1750 and still got in the mid 700's. PR is notorious for not being detailed enough in the histories.

Amsco for USH.

Amsco and Barrons for USH. amsco to understand the main details and overall transitions in american history and barrons just for the specifics.

AMSCO and forget Barron's. Barron's is a rebadged textbook filled with worthless information and excessive details you will never, ever need to know for the test. AMSCO is probably one of the most amazing USH prep books ever written - the right blend of length, detail, organization, and most importantly, analysis. I give it a lot of credit for helping me get a 5 on the AP and 800 on SAT this year.

use amsco to study for ush, and if you want to take practice tests use the collegeboard tests that are out and/or the pr review book ones
