Best books to help learn math/science?

Hey all. I'm trying to study for some tests coming up for my re-entrance into my local school.

I was wondering what books are best- such as the "Demystified" books? Or the Bob Miller books? Which books are best for science courses like Alg II/Trig, Biology, and Chemistry?

I'd also like to know if there are any good books for courses I'll be taking next school year, so any books you know of that really helped you learn the course material easily would be great.

Also, I doubt if anyone knows, but if anyone knows aof some great ways to learn Japanese please tell me. There are so many textbooks and tapes I don't know what to get!

Thanks!

I have a few of the Demystified books. The Calculus one is terrible, the chem one is so-so, and the physics one is pretty good. Not sure about the others.

Because you're studying math and science, a textbook is probably best.

Algebra 2 - Algebra and Trigonometry: Structure and Method Book 2
Biology - Campbell's Biology
Chemistry - Chemistry: The Central Science

I used each of those at some time or another, and they're all great books.

For Japanese, I have Japanese for Dummies. You laugh, but it's a pretty good book. I also have the Rosetta Stone program, but that's best when you have a basic understanding of the language.

For chemistry get Atkins' chemical principles. Don't whine about how hard it is. Just learn it.
