The Giver was great.

Ooh. Also… A Corner of the Universe. Has anyone else read it?

House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne
As I Lay Dying/A Rose For Emily by William Faulkner

I love those eerie stories like some of the works by Edgar Allen Poe.

My favorite books that are classic/ earth-shattering:

Mr. Was and 1984

Best book I have read this year is Walden

what’s wrong with Jane Eyre?
I though it was a good read, at least compared to the (bad) translations they have for some foreign classic books that I’d been trying to stomach previously.

You know what I noticed which is a bit strange? I can only read classic books that were originally written in English, that haven’t been translated. Has anyone else noticed that they like untranslated books better as well? (just curious)
