Speaking as a recent Haas alum here who has friends in basically all the orgs mentioned in this thread. Would definitely recommend joining a business club if you don’t want to completely focus on business. Would recommend a business frat if you do want to focus on business. Business frats have superior resources. More importantly, their turnover rate is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lower. This means that 1) alumni stay super connected with their fraternities and 2) the resources are more complete and helpful. Overall, from my observations, frat members are more willing to help and donate and support (even after graduation). They also seem to have closer friend groups than business clubs. That could be either a bad or good thing - you don’t want a frat to suck up your time, but it does provide all aspects that you would need in college.
A decade ago, DSP was definitely the top business frat at Cal. Now, I’m not so sure. From an objective standpoint, AKPsi recruits better and are filled with more social people. Part of the reason is probably because DSP doesn’t accept majors out of Haas. DSP also artificially inflates their Haas acceptance rate. But if you want Goldman, definitely still go for DSP. If you have other interests, go to AKPsi. BAP is kind of scary. I don’t really like them because they recruit first semester freshman, and once they’re in, they never get to explore campus. They stick to BAP for all four years and it just seems pretty limiting. Really up to you tho
