does any one have a list? The proper lists are weird because the top schools, you can not apply to them. Such as Ross, Hass. Virginia..etc.

USC’s?
Vanderbilt’s?
WUSTL’s?
MIT’s?

Wharton, Stern, Ross(they do admit freshmen), Tepper, Marshall, Georgetown, Boston College, Kelley, Texas, the list goes on and on. they are listed in no particular order.

for an international student, where should i apply?

well depends on what schools you could get into and afford. all the schools on that list besides texas accept lots of out of staters/international students

in my opinion from best to worst on that list
wharton
stern
ross
tepper
georgetown
marshall
Boston college
IUB kelley

ill be applying to all of them without asking for aid.

i have found that many good schools allow freshman in…and dont forget carlson cuz that seems to get bypassed a lot even though its a great school.

does it matter whether you get in as a freshman or not?

well if you cant get in as a freshman you will have to get in as a junior. that means that you will have to have a good, and in some cases outstanding, g.p.a for you first 2 years in college. so if you dont do as well as youd like your first years of school you will either have to declare a different major or transfer to a school that accepts you into its business program.

exactly.. but there are schools in which u automatically go to the businesss school if u want and there is no admission requirement.. i think notre does that.

ya i decided to go into business quite recently actually and ive researched about every college possible a ton of times. i liked wisconsin, but i was scared away when i saw that less than half of the people that applied to the undergrad business school were accepted. thats why i decided on carlson at minnesota, they have very high standards and it is the most competetive school at the university. i havent been accepted yet, but im really hoping i do! also, some colleges that usually only accept juniors into the business program will accept freshman with outstanding credentials.

Besides those mentioned above, Babson College and Bentley College, which are primarily schools for business.

Sure, you compile a list of business school that accept freshman, but do not forget all these schools have pre requirements that need to be completed prior to matriculation.

My personal recommendation…. Wait a year and apply to McIntire (#2 in BusinessWeek). Come for a visit and take a seat in a class. Once here, you’ll have your selection of top Investment Banks and Consulting Firms that actively recruit here.

Pre-requirements usually include AP ECON and AP CALC AB right? thats all we need for Business COlleges.

Be aware, college is MUCH harder and more demanding than high school. Everyone is as sharp as you and maybe more so.

Frankly, I think it’s crazy to apply to a college where you are not guaranteed admission to the business school, assuming that is what you want. I would never recommend that to anyone. My suggestion is to apply and attend school that have guaranteed admission for you into their business program. Otherwise, if you don’t do well enough, you will not only not get into their business school but may have insufficent grades to transfer. This is a real possibility.

Very nicely put taxguy. you have changed my opinion on some matters.

[McIntire School of Commerce: Undergraduate Prerequisites](http://www.commerce.virginia.edu/admissions/undergraduate/prerequisites.html)

u cant apply to mcintire as a freshman.

ya i would definitely listen to taxguy’s proposal. just imagine how crushed you would be if you worked ur butt off freshman and sophomore years to get into the business school and then fall just short. it is becoming more and more competetive in these schools and it definitely isnt easy to get a spot. i dont think i could deal with such a major setback in my life. everyone on here would be more than likely to tell u 4 year business schools ur elegible for if u put ur stats up in a thread.

How do you judge a school as “best”? Do you put cost into the equation or just totally going after the name? Personally, I think for a BS it doesn’t really matter. A business program is most valuable at its master’s level. For instance, Dartmouth has a very well respected college for business, but they don’t even offer undergraduate business degrees there because they know the program is valued only at the master’s level.
