Columbia doesn’t have business as an undergrad major. I’d go to Cornell, NYU or Fordham as top choices (unless you live in NJ and $ is an issue). You can also look into SUNY-Binghamtom, particularly if you are a NYS resident. My S just graduated from the Gabelli business school at Fordham and had a great experience. But I will warn you that Fordham has a large core curriculum so look at it and work out if you can meet the requirements and graduate on time.

happy1: Thank you so much for your response! Wow, I didn’t realize that Columbia didnt have a business program. Thanks for letting me know, cause I was thinking of applying there. What is your son majoring in?

“best” for high finance or consulting type careers is princeton columbia and cornell, but highly doubtful you can transfer in. stern is really hard too, even for nyu students.

for accounting and just general business curriculum something like baruch or fordham is fine. you’ll want to be in an area where you can intern during the year if you can.

Now which school offers the best chance to get into investment banking? I know NYU and Columbia are both good schools for IBD, any other schools?
