best calculator for IIc!!!

List the best calculator for IIc, i am kind of stuck between Ti-84, Ti-83,
Ti-84+ (silver edition, wat's up with that?) what's the difference between the silver and the black, other than the color???

also, there is the Ti 89, can you experts plz tell me which one you used? your score? which one you'd recommend? thanx

You're going to do best with the calculator you're most familiar and comfortable with. No matter how many functions a calculator has, if you aren't very comfortable with it, you're not going to do well.

First of all, all three calculators that you name have the EXACT same functions. There is no difference in how they work. The only difference is how much memory they have, which wont matter for the SAT 2. I have an 83, and it was just fine for an 800. The Ti 89 has a few more features, and some people say that its the best. Personally, I think its overkill. An 83 will suffice.

ti - 83, I used it.

to be honest, a regular scientific caluclator like ti-36 should suffice BUT if u wnanna check graphing and make sure u did ur trig. right i recommmend the ti-83 like kent said its the best for ur buck. the only recommendation is the ti-89 but the differences betweent the two graphing calculaors is minimal

I'd HIGHLY recommend the TI-89 but ONLY, and I repeat ONLY if you know how to use it. If you arent familiar with all of the capabilities it's no different than any other calculator.

I used ti-83+ (silver) just use what you're comfortable with

isn't ti-89 one of the calculators that aren't allowed on the test?

i used TI 82

TI-89 is allowed on the test.

oh really.... cool

TI-89 is by far the best calc if you know how to use it....got me an 800.

I used ti-89 and did not do any calculations outside of the calculator! No work on my scrap paper at all. It's a beautiful machine :)

i use 83+ got a 780 the first time last year, and this year an 83+ and I am pretty sure it is 800, also if you rely on your calc for every problem you will struggle to finish, some are just easier without calc, but like someone else said, use the one that you are most familar with, and if you go buy an 89, get familar with it, b/c its syntax is stricter than most other calculators

TI-89 is not allowed on the ACT.

Use the TI-83+. It can perform all the functions required for Math IIc and the SAT I. It has the added advantages of having a shallow learning curve and being easay-to-use.

TI-89.... It has built in factorization, built in system of equation solver, and a ton more memory for additional "help" programs.

I used my graphic calculator for 2 questions (and that was only to double-check the answer). The rest were all scientific.

TI-89

The power of god invested into calculator handed to student to pwn test.
In that order.

Now go get one!
