Just wondering for a friend. Any advice will be appreciated !

no suggestion?

UCLA, UCB, UC Irvine.

Any of the reputable UC schools (which are all of them except UCR and UCM) should provide your friend with an excellent psychology program. Some of the CSU’s will as well. Your friend should look into the specific requirements and courses offered at each California school (s)he is interested in to find a program that suits his/her particular interests. For example, UCLA’s program is more focused on the scientific aspects of psychology, while UCB’s program is tailored more to social psychology.

UCSC has a strong phych dept. as well.

oh great ! thank you guys for your advice. I will try suggesting her to UCLA.
If she can’t get into a UC would CSULB be a good undergrad and eventually grad program to attend?

& how long would it usually take to get her(my friend) PHD?
