Best career path to 'financial success' (read millionaire/billionaire)

Hi,

This will sound very shallow but I'm curious about what the best career paths are for becoming financially successful by 30 years old, assuming one is going into college next year (fall 2008). And I mean the elite paths, Ie. Wharton undergrad, HBS for MBA, i-banking goldman sachs, merrill lynch, morgan stanley etc.

Or Princeton Econ degree,
Or Stanford engineering.
Or Harvard Law?

Maybe even Babson College (#1 entrepreneurship school in states) then starting up own business.

Lol, sounds weird, but what makes money fastest? I'm obviously biased towards Wharton (i'm applying there), and hopefully starting out strong with first job on Wall street, so I don't have to return for MBA (33% of Wharton grads return for MBA within 15 yrs)

It's a convoluted question I know, as there is no 'one' path, but just curious what most people think.

lulz ...

You can win the lottery at age 18 =O

Drop out of college and start computer software company or website search engine.

If you go into IB, Law, etc. you'll definitely eventually become a multi-millionaire, but you will not become a billionaire. Furthermore, you should be prepared to sacrifice your twenties if you're planning to go down those paths, as they require 70+ hour work weeks.

lolz, if there was a solid way to get extremely rich, you think people would just tell you? and if they just told you, then everyone would flock to the field and compete away the profits. looks like you need to learn some economics :-)

haha, thx matt...i regretted making this thread soon as i sent it lol.
