Best CC to go to if you plan to go to UCB or UCLA?

What CC would be best for me to go to. I plan on having at least a 3.6 GPA, by then I will have volunteered 4 years at a sunday school, and will be working at least 20 hours a week. I also plan to write a great persoanl statement. However, I am still worried that I might not be accepted.

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Caltech, UCR....any of these fine CCs should give you guaranteed admission to UCB or UCLA

You obviously don't know what a CC is (and not its litteral meaning as a college in a community)

Do you think I should not take any AP classes these next 2 years of HS and take 2 classes a semester at a CC and then when I go to a CC I will only have to attend for 1 year. However, the drawback about that is that I will miss some AP classes that will really help me in a CC

Citan was kidding.

All the California community colleges work; the UCs cannot discriminate between them. It is probably not worth it to, for instance, move in order to go to Santa Monica. The point is to attend the one closest to you. UCB and UCLA will look at your grades, etc., but not the comm. colleges you attended (as long as they are California ones).

Fusion you are from the San Francisco area if I recall? CCSF is a good JC. Any JC will do but you should find one that'll keep you motivated for the next two years.

Hahahahaha, UCR.

Drop out of HS, attend your local CC for the next 2 years and transfer to UCB as a junior so you can be 2 years ahead of your classmates. :D
Check your intended major with assist.org and attend the local CC that offers the most lower division courses required for transfer.

That's only worth it if she is applying for an impacted major. Otherwise, there is no penalty if your local college doesn't have the prerequisites in terms of admission--and there's nothing wrong with taking them AT the school you transfer; you can still finish on time.

I know Citan was kiddingm and so was I.

Anyways, the closest CC is about 10 minutes away from my house. However, there is one that is about 20-25 minutes away as well and that school is a TAP school with UCLA. So if I don't get into UCB I still have a good shot at UCLA

Did g1a2b3e just call me a she?

You might have to go to both CC's if you can not find all the classes at one CC to fit your schedule. In Spring of 2005, I went to three different CCs in one day!

20-25 minutes is no big deal. Just don't move out of the city, lol. There's Evergreen Valley College 5 minutes away from me, but instead, I go to De Anza College and Foothill College which are 20-25 minutes away.

Last year, only like 6 people transferred to UCLA from Evergreen Valley, whereas De Anza sent hundreds. Evergreen Valley is very ghetto and infested with gang members (yes, in CC).

I plan to go to Foothill college, so ee-stu, you probably don't live too far away.

hey willDO

What city do you live in ee_stu?

San Jose. I don't mind the drive to Cupertino or Los Altos because the education and environment is worth it.

what a pimp. stu is such a ****ing pimp. you are a baller, dawg. same mentality. fremont to los altos/cupertino. everyday, but it is sure as HELL worth it.

Go To West Valley!!!

Haha, De Anza has a lot of people going there from this message board. Im taking two classes there right now. Can not wait to get out after next year to a 4 year university again, preferably UCLA as well.
