I've always had MetroPCS as my cell phone provider, but I'm doubting it's efficiency in Gainesville. Can anyone that uses Metro tell me how well it works and if there is a better company for the city?

Looks like it should. No personal exp from me though.

I have Metro… my phone has worked fine in all parts of town… I’ve only been to Gainesville 3 times but I had no signal loss; I was probably on the phone twice and I had good reception. Also while driving on SR301 and going through Waldo and Starke I had no service interruption. You should be fine.

I’ve had metro the whole time i’ve been here, and it’s worked fine. i obviously don’t get signal in like the library or big buildings, but that was the same in west palm. I did lose coverage on my way up there from south florida, around prairie plains, and also in the far north of the city near the airport. but coverage on campus and in other places a student might go would be fine.

Awesome, thanks!

(I know this thread is over a year old) How are the major carriers like Verizon, ATT, Sprint, and T-Mobile anyone?
