Best Cell Phone service provider for ND campus

I've had AT&T and I'd say that its performance on ND campus subpar. Anyone with suggestion as to which which service I should get?

Verizon. I've never had a problem with it, and it seems like the majority of students have it (even if it's not a hugely strong majority) which makes the free in-calls and texts awesome.

Verizon! They have maintained and upgraded their towers on campus which is probably why service is so good. Only 1 other carrier has done this, just not sure which one.

Not sprint.

Verizon!!!!!

Definitely VERIZON!! My freshman son had a phone with Nextel service when he first moved in - it was so frustrating! He could only get service when he was outside and even then it wasn't that good. He was never able to receive calls from inside of his dorm room - even from other students on campus. After a week of this annoyance, I bought him a Verizon phone and drove down on Labor Day to give it to him. He loves it - and hasn't had a problem since!!

I don't want to take over this thread, but while we're talking about cell phone service--how is T-Mobile's coverage on campus? Anyone know?

^^My S has T-Mobile and it has worked adequately, but not great. I think Verizon is probably much better. He does not get very good reception at all inside of most buildings. We have a 2 year family plan though, and it's good enough he's staying with T-Mobile. However, he texts voluminously and talks much less frequently, so it's not as big a problem as it would be with someone who actually used the phone as a talking rather than texting device.

I have AT&T and I haven't really had any problems. The only places I don't get reception are 1st floor LaFun, some places in and around Stepan/Nieuwland, and the basements of some of the buildings. Sometimes the issue can be with your phone and not the carrier. However, if you're looking to switch, the only other carrier on campus that is supposed to be good is Verizon. It seems like everyone has it too, so that's good for in-calling.

T-Mobile was so bad (bad or no reception, inside, anywhere on campus and often no reception outside as well), we switched to Verizon as soon as our contract with T-Mobile expired. This was two years ago. No issues with Verizon.

awesome thanks!!!
i'll be getting verizon now

Verizon, a no brainer.

I have AT&T and I have service just about everywhere on campus since they activated the 3g network here a week or two ago. Before that, service was sketchy in a lot of the buildings on campus. Hope that helps.

I have Sprint and it is miserable. I actually switched from T-Mobile and my roomate (who has T-Mobile) has consistently better reception than I do.

My niece has been happy with her Verizon for her 2 years at ND.

Verizon was bad our son's freshman year(2005, interior Dillon room), but they put in a new tower and it has been great since.
