Best Chances For ED hopeful

Out of STANFORD, CORNELL, UCBEREKLEY and COLUMBIA (Engineering), where do I stand the best chances to get in ED? (I'm an International student, and I KNOW what that does to my acceptance probability)

My SAT Score is : 2010. (Will Up This By At Least 100 Points)
(Taking it again in October. Already scoring a 2100+ score continuously on practice tests)
Subject tests, Math: 780, Chemistry:760
Class 9th: 84% (2nd in Class)
Class 10th: 93% (3rd in Class)
Class 11: 90% (2nd in Class)

EXTRA CURRICULAR:
Musician (Pianist). Already released two of my albums with self composed songs. In the school band for 7 years. Pursuing music passionately, and hope to minor in it!

Debater (National Level). Won various Accolades here. 2nd in a national debate.
Sports (Regional Level). Cricket

Community Service/work exp. Visited Thalassemia Ward in Hospital many times and met with patients. Visited an Old Age Home in the City for one year every week, and made a video project on it for J4J (A school initiative) .
Participated in numerous out reach programmes. Part of a school club that promotes Environmental Sustainability. Been working with the Rotary Club for past two years.

Leadership: Elected vice-captain of my school. Member of the School representative
council.

I would say that by applying ED to Cornell, you’d definitely get in. But…with any of the other schools you posted, I doubt it. By ED-ing at Cornell, you are completely solidifying your chances of acceptance. :)

“Debater (National Level). Won various Accolades here. 2nd in a national debate.”

really? forensics level debate? 2nd place at a national tournament??? which one???

JoshByron
Thanks! That was good to hear!

Extemp
It was a debate competition wherein, the debaters from the best schools of the country competed. It’s very prestigious debate competition.
I have won MANY debate competitions, but this one is my greatest feat.
Now?

was it national forensics league sponsored?

I’m not American.

bump/10char
.

Hoping for some more inputs.
Thanks!
I’ll chance back.

Scores too low. Chances very slim.

Alright… Thanks for the input.
My current SAT score is definitely on the lower side, but I am sure I’ll notch it up by AT LEAST 100 points. I have been practicing tests from Barron’s 2400, and scoring in 2100 and 2200s continuously.
I hope I do well!

With an improved score, what are my chances at the aforementioned varsities?
And do you think there is something in my profile I can work on and ‘improve’?

Thanks!!

Please chance me… I’ll chance you back!

Your best shot is probably Cornell EC (UC Berkeley has funky admissions OOS). Anywhere above a 2200 would give you a much better chance at all of these schools, as well as displaying passion for your ECs.

Cornell- Low-mid reach
Columbia- Mid reach
UC Berkeley- Mid reach
Stanford- High High reach

I would say UCBerkely. Your SAT scores stand the nearest to it. It is a really good shcool anyway. YOur national debater thing will add ALOT of weight on the resume.

chance me! : http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/960287-chance-international-national.html

UC Berkeley for ED. Cornell is crazy hard to get into for engineering.

Why almost all idians play cricket?Why all asians play piano?..admission officer might get u right there.
ur best chance i would say is at cornell for ED as ED for cornell is really advantageous.

JoshBryon, I disagree. Despite his extra-curricular achievements, a 2010 on the SAT is not enough for Cornell, even ED. If you push to 2100, your chances improve a lot but if you want a REALLY good chance you should aim for at least 2200. Keep in mind that Cornell doesn’t look at the Writing section so if you can get 1450+ M/CR then you’re kind of set.

@Bernard3
Surely you mean Cornell ED and not EC (?)
Yes, I understand the momentous significance of scoring 2200+ in your SATs.

@nitcomp, rotflmaospencer
Thanks. But there’s a conflict of opinion between you and Bernard3, who says that UCBerkeley is pretty hard for OOS students. (?)

@TAHUNGANH
Stereotyping… Not good, not good. Every music-oriented friends I have plays the guitar, so I don’t know how you reached your generalization. Cricket is famous here, true that… But not everyone plays that. Many… MANY people here despise the game.
But thanks for the heads up about Cornell ED. I do have my heart and soul set upon Cornell. :)

@HKToUS
Agreed. Score needs to be improved. Unlucky me: My writing section is my strongest! But I believe with an 800 in math, getting 650+ in reading shouldn’t be a daunting task.
But you do agree that I have better chances at Cornell that I do at any other colllege?

Bad advice flying here.

If you look at the facts, Berkeley is undoubtedly your best shot. Cornell’s stats get a little confused by the in state students accepted to it’s land grant schools. Berkeley by a significant margin has the lowest SAT average in this group.

Unfortunately there is no ED there and you can’t be lookig for a cent of aid.

Let me clarify my first post; if you look at the raw statistics, Cornell ED admits 31% of its applicants, whereas UC Berkeley admits 12.5% (2007) of its out of state applicants RD. Even if you take into account that Cornell ED applicants are probably more competitive in terms of GPA/SAT/AP, UC Berkeley is still very difficult to get into if you are OOS. It is true that the mean SAT score at UC Berkeley is significantly lower than that of Cornell, it is an entirely different standard for OOS.

I don’t think there is ED for UC Berkeley
