<p>Let me clarify my first post; if you look at the raw statistics, Cornell ED admits 31% of its applicants, whereas UC Berkeley admits 12.5% (2007) of its out of state applicants RD. Even if you take into account that Cornell ED applicants are <em>probably</em> more competitive in terms of GPA/SAT/AP, UC Berkeley is still very difficult to get into if you are OOS. It is true that the mean SAT score at UC Berkeley is significantly lower than that of Cornell, it is an entirely different standard for OOS.</p>
