which is the best sport to put on a college resume?

The best sport is the one which you are recruited for.

the one you're best at. popular ones are probably best ... basketball, football, soccer, etc. but seriously if you're good at it put it on your resume

i mean, for example, colleges might consider you more if your good at wrestling more than if your good at jai ali or curling or ultimate frisbee

Any sport where you're good enough to play for a varsity team they have (thats why wrestling > curling - I don't know of any US schools with varsity curling teams)

Skeet shooting isn't a favored sport at Reed. Hockey doesn't help much at UCSD. If some people have their way, fencing will soon replace swimming at UTEP.

Crew likes to brag that they're favored by the Ivies, but I think that's a load of crap. Unless you're good enough to get recruited, of course.

I'm a rower, by the way.

Well if you're good enough at it to get recruited, crew, because it's harder to find good rowers than a lot of other things.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

10 kills or more = guaranteed in at Harvard

Lacrosse! Only because I play :).
