Best College Survival Guides?

I always find those college survival guides interesting and fun. What are some of the best ones that you have seen and read?

Thanks!

How to Kick Ass in College by Gunnar Fox.

major in success, by patrick combs

How to Survive a Robot Uprising
Zombie Survival Guide

Sure they may not be college survival books but many rules do apply.

^Hehe.

One college guide that I am currently reading that I like is "College Rules!" by Sherrie Nist-Olejnik and Jodi Patrick Holschuh. It is a great book about study tips and how to generally get by academically in college. I would reccomend it to any future (or current) college student.

^Wow, that sounds like a good one...Barnes & noble here I come.

The Naked Roommate, by Harlan Cohen. Talks about all kinds of situations that can and do come up. Some funny, like the title, some quite serious.

College Humor Guide to College

College Rules! is my favorite, but I've also found great info in the following books:

A Girl's Guide to College: Making the Most of the Best Four Years of Your Life by Traci Maynigo (if you're a girl)

How to Survive Your Freshman Year: By Hundreds of College Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors Who Did

That's going to make up a good portion of my summer reading list...along with Marx, of course. (:

Just got home from Barnes and Noble...I got How To Survive Your Freshman Year and Kick Ass in College. (YAY FOR GIFT CARDS.) Plus two other fiction books that I've been wanting to read.

^I am planning on getting that one as well...

Ok, so I started on How To Survive...and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It's nice how many different perspectives it offers...although I was surprised how many of the kids are endorsing fake IDs.

I took out a couple from my local library. I don't recommend buying these kinds of books because the re-read value is low.

The worst-case scenario survival handbook : college

Making the Most of College: Students Speak Their Minds

Getting ready for college

Survival Secrets of College Students

My Freshman Year: What a Professor Learned by Becoming a Student

Chicken Soup for the College Soul, however, is a good book to keep. It will keep you inspired.

So you know. Upperclassmen are for free. :)

^So are the books from the library...^

I have started How To Survive Your Freshman Year and Kick Ass in College and I will attest to its greatness...

I am totally going to take one out of the library sometime soon.
Totally didn't think of that.

Well, since you guys are asking for it..You might be interested in going to How To Get Good Grades in College. There's a free 14 day course as well as a video course just for academic survival. (but if anyone from here wants to buy it PM me first so I can arrange you a discount) It's new but I tried putting in everything I learned from my own college experience and also from a student's perspective.

fromstartofinish:

I also just bought The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook: College. That whole series is great, actually.
