What are the best college towns in the country

Ann Arbor. Boston (really a college city). Berkeley. Maybe Austin.

Agree with Austin! :)

Athens Georgia is a great, small college town. Home of UGA Dawgs and an awesome music scene downtown.

Charlottesville and Harrisonburg!

With Boston, add San Francisco and Washington, D.C., if “town” doesn’t mean college-centric.

Well, Madison, WI–of course. It is often at the top of these lists. Also, Boulder, CO; Lawrence, KS; Iowa City, IA. Agree with Austin and Athens as well.

Any other ones in California? Im looking for a clean and fun enviorment

UC Davis. Small friendly town with Sacramento 20 mins away.

Oops, almost forgot to mention Williamsburg.

State capitals with a bunch of colleges/university can be great. Check first, though.

Are there any good ones in Washington?

Another vote for Davis, CA.

Tally baby home to FSU the biggest party school in the country

Philadelphia has more colleges and unis than every city but Boston.

Ithaca, NY and Evanston, IL

Chico and San Luis Obispo are also great college towns.

Whatever is left of - Goleta/Isla Vista should probably also be on the list.

I can’t believe no one’s listed Chapel Hill yet. Gainesville, Florida is pretty nice too.

A second for Ann Arbor!

A college town is a city/town that revolves around the university/college that is located there. In my opinion, it is not a state capital, large city, or a school that is isolated from its urban/central core. Ann Arbor, Boulder, Athens, Charlottesville, and the like are REAL college towns. Without their universities, they would collapse.
